Claim with confidence

Medical aid claims
made easier

Many of our mobility and home-care products may be claimable through your medical aid. Whether a claim is covered is always your scheme's decision. What we do is prepare a quote and invoice that meet every requirement, so your claim has the best possible chance.

Important: cover is your medical aid's decision

Whether your item is paid depends entirely on your medical aid and your specific plan. It comes down to your available external medical item or appliance benefit, the ICD-10 diagnosis code from your doctor, pre-authorisation, and your scheme's rules. Mr Mobility cannot approve, guarantee or influence a claim. What we can do is make sure your claim meets every requirement, so your scheme has everything it needs to assess the item.

Simple, step by step

How claiming works

1
Tell us what you need
Send us the product you're considering and we'll confirm what your scheme is likely to require.
2
Get your ICD-10 code
Ask your doctor for the ICD-10 (diagnosis) code. It tells your scheme why the item is needed and must appear on the invoice.
3
Send us your details
Main member's full name & ID, the claiming member's details if different, your medical aid name, membership number and the ICD-10 code.
4
We issue your quote or invoice
Prepared with your ICD-10 code, the correct NAPPI codes, item description and pricing, our BHF practice number and SAHPRA details.
5
Submit & get a decision
Depending on your scheme we submit on your behalf, or you send it to your medical aid. Cover is always your scheme's decision.
No surprises

Common medical aid questions

Will my medical aid pay?

That's entirely your scheme's decision. It depends on your plan option, available benefits or savings, the ICD-10 diagnosis and pre-authorisation. We can't approve or guarantee a claim. What we do is make sure it meets every requirement so your scheme can assess it.

What is an ICD-10 code?

It's a diagnosis code, obtainable from your doctor, that tells your medical aid what your condition is and why the item is needed. It's required on the invoice, so we can't prepare your claim documents without it.

What is a NAPPI code?

A unique code that identifies the specific product on your claim. We supply the correct one for every claimable item.

Do I need pre-authorisation?

Usually yes for appliances and external medical items. Many schemes require it, sometimes above a set rand amount. Check with your scheme, and we'll give you the quote you need to apply.

Who submits the claim?

It depends on your scheme. For some we can submit directly on your behalf. For others you send the quote or invoice to your medical aid and claim back. We'll tell you which applies to you.

Can you help me submit?

Yes. We prepare the quote and invoice, explain exactly what to send, and help with any follow-up your scheme requests, though the cover decision always stays with them.

Not sure where to start? Talk to us.

Send us the item you're considering along with your medical aid details and ICD-10 code, and we'll prepare a quote with everything your scheme needs to assess the claim: the NAPPI codes, pricing, our practice number and SAHPRA details.

Whether a medical aid covers an item is entirely the scheme's decision and depends on your plan option, available benefits, the ICD-10 diagnosis, pre-authorisation and your scheme's rules. Mr Mobility prepares a quote and invoice that meet claim requirements but cannot approve, guarantee or influence cover. Always confirm cover and pre-authorisation with your medical aid before purchasing.
