Manual Wheelchairs
Manual Wheelchairs for Everyday Use, Travel and Care
A manual wheelchair is still the most practical choice for many people. It needs no charging, folds for the car boot and can be pushed by the user or by a carer. Our range includes:
- Standard and lightweight aluminium wheelchairs for everyday use at home and out and about.
- Transport wheelchairs with small rear wheels, made to be pushed by a carer and easy to fold for travel.
- Heavy-duty and bariatric wheelchairs with wider seats and higher weight capacities.
- Reclining and tilt-in-space wheelchairs for users who need extra support or cannot sit upright for long.
- Wheelchairs with elevating legrests for leg injuries, swelling or recovery after surgery.
How to choose a manual wheelchair
Check the seat width (the user’s hip width plus a little room), the user’s weight against the chair’s weight capacity, and whether the wheelchair will mostly be self-propelled or pushed by a carer. If it needs to fit in a car, compare the folded size and weight. For longer distances, or for users who cannot push themselves, an electric wheelchair may suit better. Many wheelchairs may be claimable through your medical aid, and our team can help you find the right one.
