Bellavita Nova Reclining Bath Lift: the new generation Bellavita
The Bellavita Nova replaces the Bellavita 2G as the current Bellavita bath lift from Drive Medical. It gently lowers you into the water and raises you back up at the touch of a button, and adds a removable backrest, a more stable lift and a roomier seat.
What’s new compared with the previous Bellavita
- Removable backrest – releases with a quick-release catch, so a carer can lift it off when the seat is fully lowered for more room and a deeper soak.
- Dual-rack lift – two racks instead of one keep raising, lowering and transfers steady.
- Roomier seat – 52.5 cm seat depth, up from 42 cm.
- Easy to carry – splits into two parts of almost equal weight for fitting, storage and travel.
- Replaceable battery – the lithium-ion battery in the hand control can be replaced.
- Same accessories – covers, suction cups and other Bellavita accessories fit both models.
Comfort and Deep Immersion
- Lowers to 6.5 cm from the bath floor for a proper soak, even in shallow baths.
- Rises to 48 cm for easy, safe transfers. No height adapter needed.
- Reclines from 10° to 50° using the hand control, with an ergonomic lumbar-supporting backrest.
- Padded, washable covers and a hygienic front cut-out in the seat for easier personal care.
Safety and Convenience
- Four patented 3D suction feet hold the base firmly. The front two vent automatically as the lift rises, so it is easier to lift out of the bath.
- Floating, waterproof hand control with an emergency stop button.
- Built-in safety cut-out – the lift will not lower if the battery does not have enough charge to bring you back up.
- 140 kg maximum user weight.
Will It Fit My Bath?
The Nova fits most standard baths. Its base needs a flat area of about 61 cm long by 31 cm wide on the bath floor, and the seat with its side flaps is 70 cm wide. It is longer than the previous Bellavita (102 cm overall), so if your bath is short or tapered, measure the flat floor first, or send us a photo with measurements and we will check it for you.

What is the difference between the Bellavita Nova and the previous Bellavita?
The Nova is the successor to the Bellavita 2G, which Drive Medical stopped making at the end of 2025. It adds a removable backrest, a dual-rack lift for more stability, a deeper 52.5 cm seat and a replaceable battery in the hand control. It keeps the same 6.5 cm low position, 48 cm high position, 50° recline and 140 kg capacity.
Can I remove the backrest?
Yes. The backrest releases with a quick-release catch and can be lifted off by a carer when the seat is fully lowered, giving more room and a deeper soak. Follow the user manual when removing and refitting it.
Will the Bellavita Nova fit in my bathtub?

How much is delivery, and how long does it take?

Is it easy to install and take out?
Yes. No tools are needed. It splits into two parts of almost equal weight, and the suction feet hold it in place. The front suction feet vent automatically as the lift rises, which makes it easier to lift out.
Does it come with a remote control?
Yes. The hand control is waterproof, floats, and has an emergency stop button. It also controls the backrest recline.

How is it charged?
The lithium-ion battery sits inside the hand control and charges with the supplied charger. For safety, the lift will not lower if there is not enough charge to raise you back up.
How do I clean the Bellavita Nova?
The padded covers are removable and washable, and the smooth plastic frame wipes clean. The seat has a hygienic front cut-out for easier personal care.
Do accessories from my old Bellavita fit the Nova?
Yes. Drive Medical designed the Nova so that Bellavita accessories such as covers and suction cups fit both models.
Is there any additional warranty on the Bellavita Nova?
Yes. The Bellavita Nova has a lifetime warranty on the frame, 2 years on parts including the motor (parts and labour in the first year), and 6 months on the battery.
