I have found the Bubble Mattress to be a cost-effective solution that assist with the healing of pressure wounds and prevent further ones from developing. At 135kg maximum capacity weight, this provides just about all patients’ individual weights. The bubbles inflate and deflate alternatively every 6.5 minutes. This means that there is no pressure on any part of the patient’s body for more than 6.5minutes at a time. The patient can also feel the bubbles inflate and deflate, thus experiencing relief interval relief from pressure. The bubble hardness is set on a machine, thus the patient can say whether the bubbles should be a little softer for more comfort. The patient literally lies on air at all times. We have not found red areas, or off-skin areas on our patients’ bodies at any time when they start to use the Bubble Mattress.
