The Aero Hybrid electric wheelchair does something most power chairs cannot: it lets you push yourself. The 20-inch rear wheels carry proper handrims, so on a good day you can propel it by hand like a manual chair, and on a long day you let the motors do the work. Most folding power chairs give you small rear wheels and no such choice.

That flexibility sits on a full carbon fibre frame. This power wheelchair weighs 18 kg with the battery in and 16 kg without it, yet carries users up to 150 kg. Quick-release rear wheels come off in seconds, which drops the bulk further when you are loading a car.

A Power Wheelchair Built for Long Days

Twin 200 W brushless motors take this electric wheelchair to 6 km/h, and the removable 24 V lithium battery is rated for 22 to 27 km per charge, the longest range in the Aero range. A full charge takes 3 to 6 hours, and the battery lifts out so you can charge it indoors.

Seven-inch front and 20-inch rear PU tyres on magnesium alloy rims mean no punctures, and sprung front castors take the edge off rough paving. Electromagnetic braking holds the chair when you release the joystick. With a 60 cm turning radius, this carbon fibre electric wheelchair still manages indoors despite the big rear wheels.
