The SmartChair reclining electric wheelchair is built for people who spend most of the day in the chair. The backrest lays back manually through a wide range, and an adjustable headrest carries the weight of the head and neck once you are down. Sitting upright for eight hours is hard on anyone; being able to lie back and shift the pressure changes the day.

Unfolded it stands 120 cm tall, against 96 cm for the upright version, which is the backrest and headrest you are paying for. The seat measures 46 x 46 cm with 7 cm of padding, and this power wheelchair carries users up to 150 kg on a magnesium-aluminium alloy frame.

Range and Ride on a High Back Power Wheelchair

Twin 300 W motors take this reclining electric wheelchair to 8 km/h, and the 24 V 13 Ah lithium battery covers 18 to 25 km between charges, recharging in 3 to 6 hours. Twelve-inch pneumatic rear tyres and 8-inch solid front wheels absorb the broken paving that jars a smaller chair.

Despite the high back, it still folds to 63 x 37 x 75 cm and weighs 26 kg with the battery in. The imported 360-degree joystick steers precisely, an electromagnetic brake holds the chair the moment you release it, and a 60 cm turning radius keeps this reclining wheelchair usable indoors. The footrest is adjustable, and gradients of up to 12 degrees are within reach.
